  There is an assumption being made that chairs sat on to go online will remain static. Think outside the box. If you control the viewer, you can control the angle that their shoulders dip at. That is how you steer these cute little things. Made by Honda and called the Uni-Cub, are these the new congregation chairs?

  If so imagine the new style conventions. Everyone mounts a chair and whizzes round and round to a Kingdom Melody, carrying a colourful umbrella to spell out the names of the GB or do portraits of their faces. With these thing you could even do social distancing. And you could have auto-apostate detection, so you chair scooted away from anyone who'd been clicking dodgey links.

  Pistolpete - there is software that is used to monitor truck drivers to tell when they are sleepy at the wheel. Presumabley the owner of the truck company did not design the software, just gets the infomation it collects. Therefore, I think WT might get access to software it can use to monitor people's faces and discern how they are listening/engaging.
  

  You underestimate them if you think the elders know nothing about psychological control. Maybe not all but some are extremely clever. They play the congregations like a game of billiards.

  At first they were anti-things like Facebook - then they did an about turn. As if someone up-top had a light-bulb moment.

  I think the Zoom meetings give them greater psychological control - they can analyse eye movement, vocabulary, willingness to engage. The official website will provide futher data. They can set out key performance indicators and use the electric cattle prod of statistical targets to make life unbearable for everyone. After all Prince Albert (Queen Victoria's husband) said the new religion would be statistics.

  Statistics tend to work a treat - and with WT's Jackson-Pollock-does-rocket-science approach to arithmetic, should be a total mind-bender.

  I don't doubt they want contributions but above all they'd want performance.

  In a tough harsh world, Christianity provides comfort. The poor tend to be treated the worst.

  Christianity keeps you facing reality and addressing problems. Misuse of drugs can be like putting your head in the sand and not facing reality and not learning problem solving skills.

  Christianity provides power, misuse of drugs weakens.

  If you want to push dope and be the most successful, you need to wipe out the competition. Christianity is one of your competitors. So you try to knock it out of the ring.

  Similarly if you have set up a false religion and want to be the most successful, dope (legal or illegal) is one of your competitiors, so you have to try to knock it out of the ring, along with Christianity.

  If you need people to lay miles of cable, put up scaffolding or drive diggers, they've got to be able to calculate. And you don't want them falling asleep or how can you indoctrinate them? Let alone drive them to work endlessly for you.

  I hear reports of apostate YouTube video binging. People are leaving in higher numbers.

  And bloggers here are doing their bit - I know people in my ex cong read stuff here (hiya to ya all:D)

  one person here mentioned that nikki haley (parents are from india) is a woman of color.. what defines "woman of color?

  People talk of race issues when they actually mean values issues.

  A Moslem went on to me about issues faced as a Moslem and he defined it all as racism. Moslem is white and acts like a bully.
  

  Question - could Nazis moan at Jews about racism if the Jews distance themselves from them because of the Holocaust? Cause in the end that's what it all comes down to - values. How you treat others. If you really insist on being a horrible murderous, lying so and so, then end up alienated because of it, don't try saying it's cause of your skin colour.

  Really it is a good idea to treat people as you would like to be treated youself. Then funnily enough people tend to like you. Not all - but a good few.

  I got df'd by WT but guess what, not everyone shuns me - why? Cause I tries to be nice, understanding and patient. Not always easy but worth it.

  Hi again Cookiemaster - Rosicrucianism is a futher part of WT's history. Rosicrucianism possibly has its root in the ideas of Franciscan friar, Robert Bacon aka Dr Mirabilis. By 1260 there were ideas that a new age of holy spirit would come about. Progress, invention and utopia were common themes to such movements. You see these ideas in some of Watchtower's more bizarre articles such as when Joseph Rutherford said cream separators and adding machines were evidence of Christ's presence. Early sci-fi I guess.
  
  In the 1800s Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein based on Man bringing about horror through unhallowed arts. Percy Bysshe Shelley, the romantic poet was interested in secret societies working for the revolution and bringing about a utopian new world order. The romantic poets were much drawn to Persian Sufism.

  Lord Byron, another romantic poet greatly influenced the Decemberists.

  What a horrible contract that is. Work your socks off, then DO MORE!

  I know ones who would sign on to pioneer that month just to get the applause, then dib out as ill or whatever. Just 'oops' not be able to do it.

  So if you are in the know, you know you can sign on to pioneer regularly (or just for the month), then not do the hours.

  When I was a regular pioneer and I could no longer get my hours in I spoke to the elders and I was given massive consessions. To keep me on, I reckon I was offered a golden ticket by a CO, '0 hours, its ok, just stay on.' But I knew what it'd look like to the congregation. I'd be held up as an example of a hard working pioneer which they should strive to emulate. I thought that as so cruel to make them feel bad just because they didn't realise I wasn't having to do my hours. They wouldn't get told that.

  Anyway I stood down. If I remember correctly... it wasn't announced.
